In a sense, a life coach is like an athletic coach. The sports coach helps athletes get in shape and perform at their best. But there is a difference. Life Coaching is not about repetitive physical exercise. It is a .
In Life Coaching the focus is on you, the client, solving problems, achieving your goals, and making the most of yourself and your opportunities. We don't do it for you. We partner with you to help you do it for yourself.
Life Coaching creates what you want from the inside out. In other words, when your internal consciousness matches what you want, it will automatically show up externally. Since abundance is your birthright, you simply need to resonate with the energy of abundance and it can be yours. Whether it's a relationship, career, money, or time you want, you can get it by cultivating an internal shift.
Life Coaching works to identify and overcome the blocks, opening you up to receive the good you want, and aligning yourself moment to moment with who you want to be. You may feel like you're on the edge of something big in your life. It's time to work on the inner you and get ready to step up to a greater life. Fear can be released and possibility embraced.
There is a creative force always at play that, once we align with it, helps transform our lives for the better. The more aligned you keep your thoughts, feelings, and actions, the more magnificent the demonstration in your life.
Whether you need to get past, get over, or get around something that stands in the way of your happiness, Life Coaching can help you gain a whole new perspective; one that is life affirming and allows you to play a bigger game. You and your Life Coach together will push the edges of your consciousness in order to increase your capacity for love, enthusiasm, excitement, fun, peace, joy and any other state of being you'd like to enjoy.
Life Coaching is NOT therapy, counseling, or psychology. Although the coaching process may have its roots in the field of psychology, the actual process of coaching should not be mistaken for a therapeutic intervention. We concentrate on the present and future, not the past.
What Does A Life Coach Do?
A Life Coach encourages and motivates the powerful part of you to let go of self-defeating behaviors and develop healthy attitudes. A Life Coach consistently offers the highest level of support, motivation, and encouragement for your best self. A Life Coach is someone who puts the total focus on you, on what you want for yourself and your life.
Life Coaches are trained to listen actively to everything you are and are not saying. By asking questions you have probably never heard before we will help you gain insight regarding what you truly value and want. We support you in creating a sensible action plan designed for your success.
The Life Coach becomes your cheerleader, sounding board, listener, confidant, supporter, educator, and much more. The Life Coach will always tell you what we feel is true, even if it isn't what we think you want to hear. Let's face it - most people are afraid to tell us the truth because they don't want to take the chance of hurting our feelings or jeopardizing the relationship. The Life Coach has no personal agenda. The Life Coach will take that risk to take you as far as you want to go.
A Life Coach does not tell you what changes to make in your life. Life Coaching is about YOUR life. It's about YOUR dreams, and YOUR desires. It's about creating a life, an environment, a person that you'll be happy living with ... every day of the year!
Why Have A Life Coach?
How many times have you come up with an absolutely wonderful idea? And how many times have you actually followed through with your idea? What stopped you? Have you ever wondered why some people seem to always manage to get where they want to go? Unfortunately, it's easy to get stopped, slowed down, or diverted by the realities of life itself. Stuff just gets in the way... the need to earn a living, demands of family and work, and confusion about what matters most.
With a Life Coach:
Your answers, strengths, talents and abilities are already right there, inside of you, just waiting to be recognized. But finding those answers by yourself isn't always easy. Very often if you can just take a few steps toward your dreams, the fear dissipates and opportunities abound. Spirit comes in to support us and the outcome is beyond our imagination. As we cultivate positive thoughts and emotions daily, we become energized and attract all kinds of wonderful people and situations to our lives. At the same time, we are expanding our capacity to recognize and accept the good that is coming to us.
This is where a Life Coach comes in - to help you take those first few steps, to support and guide you toward the life you want to have. Something shifts. You begin to see things differently. This is not just about ideas, concepts, or words. You experience the situation differently. It feels different. And your way of dealing with things is different.
What Is The Process?
The coaching procedure can be handled in many ways. Usually contact is made on a weekly basis, whether by phone, in-person, or e-mail. The Life Coach may give you 'homework', such as questions to reflect on and answer, personality tests to take, or other tasks, depending on your goals. During the weekly sessions, you and your Life Coach will go over the 'homework' and discuss any other on-going issues or issues that have come up during that week. Depending on your goals, your time with a Life Coach could be from a few months to a few years. It is not unusual for clients to achieve one goal with a Life Coach and then to continue the relationship as more goals are set.
Having a life coach will enhance your quality of life. But it's up to you to take the first step and find a Life Coach with whom you feel comfortable. Call and speak with a Life Coach to get a feel if you are compatible. Most coaches don't mind spending a few minutes explaining what they do and how they can help you, and many offer a complimentary coaching session.
